Der Begriff Employability (Beschäftigungsfähigkeit) spielt in der hochschulpolitischen Diskussion, insbesondere im Umfeld des Bologna-Prozesses, eine zunehmend wichtigere Rolle. Die Emergenz dieses Themas ist vor dem Hintergrund verschiedener Entwicklungen zu sehen: Umstrukturierungen von Arbeitsmärkten und Branchen, veränderte ökonomische Anforderungen, Internationalisierung, Europäisierung der Bildungspolitik etc. Der Diskurs um Employability ist somit Ausdruck aktueller Veränderungen, von denen nicht nur Staat und Unternehmen, sondern auch Individuen betroffen sind. Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, welche Anforderungen sich aus der Ausrichtung von Studiengängen an der Beschäftigungsfähigkeit ihrer Absolvierenden für Hochschulen ergeben und wie nicht nur Staat und Unternehmen, sondern auch Individuen von der Employability-Strategie profitieren können.
